At the end of my lease can I get an upgrade

I'm at the end of the lease with this phone. Can I get a newer phone (one with more memory) with this plan or do I have to re-apply for a new lease? The only thing wrong with this phone is not memory space. I have an SD card in it, but with all the updates on my phone I am down to 1 GB. There are apps on this phone that came with it that I never use I wish I knew how to delete them to save space
